His research interests cover Indian and Chinese Buddhism, Confucianism and Daoism, History of Western Philosophy, Phenomenology and Compared Linguistics. Abstract:
After working for a long time on the properly poetic form of ritual action, based on Chinese ritualist treatises as well as Indian and Greco-Latin ones, my reading of the Liji 禮記 and Confucian thinkers now directs me to the question of the norms or of normativity. However, I soon realized the profound difference between the rules as understood in Chinese ritualism and the rules as conceived in Western, essentially Roman-inspired juridism (i.e. Western Legalism). It's a first attempt at clarification that I'd like to present here.
