Personal profile
Yang Weiqing
I am a professor of philosophy at RUC. I got my PHD in philosophy from Tsinghua University in July 2007. Then I joined the department of philosophy of RUC, and have been working here for about 17 years. My main research areas are moral and political philosophy, and I am especially interested in Rawls’s political philosophy, questions of political legitimacy and political obligation, justice and equality, and the dispute between rule of law and rule of morals. I have published 2 books and 40 articles or so about these topics. Now I devote most of my time and energy to the study of the history and questions of utilitarianism. I also did some translation work, and translated T. M. Scanlon’s The Difficulty of Tolerance and Amy Gutmann’s Democratic Education into Chinese. If you want to contact me, please send me an email through my email address wqyang78@ruc.edu.cn.
