National Center for Ethics and Moral Development
The Department of Ethics was one of the earliest programs on ethics established after 1949. In 2000, the Research Center for Ethics and Moral Development was approved as a "Key Research Base in Humanities and Social Sciences of the Ministry of Education." It comprises a number of research institutes, such as Marxist Ethics, Chinese Ethics, Western Ethics, Bioethics, Professional Ethics, Political Ethics, Economic Ethics, World Folk Culture, Rural Ethics, and Cultural Development. Guided by both theory and practice, the center has made significant efforts to establish a multi-level platform, serving for academics, policy consultation, students training, and information dissemination. Over time, it has evolved into an academic hub and a think tank of intellectual resources.
