National Center for Ethical and Moral Development Studies
The department of Ethics was one of the earliest programs on ethics established after 1949. In 2000, the Research Center for Ethics and Moral Development was approved as a 'Key Research Base in Humanities and Social Sciences of the Ministry of Education.' It comprises a number of research institutes, such as Marxist Ethics, Chinese Ethical Thought, Western Ethical Thought, Applied Ethics, Bioethics, Professional Ethics, Political Ethics, Economic Ethics, World Folk Culture, Rural Ethics, and Cultural Development. Guided by academic theory and practical concerns, the center has made significant efforts to establish a multi-level platform, serving for academics, policy consultation, talent training, and information dissemination. Over time, it has evolved into an academic hub and a think tank of intellectual resources that the nation relies on for societal development.
