Personal profile

Gong Zhichong is a lecturer at the School of Philosophy and the Distinguished Young Scholar, Renmin University of China. He received his Ph.D. degree in philosophy from Peking University. He serves as the secretary-general of the Committee on the Study of Confucian Classics of the China Confucius Society. His areas of interest in research include Confucian political philosophy, history of modern Chinese political thought, and Confucian Classics. In charge of a national research project for young scholars on Datong shu 大同書 (The Book of the Great Unity ) , he has published over 10 papers in journals such as Philosophical Research , Philosophical Trends , and History of Chinese Philosophy . He punctuated and proofread Cao Yuanbi's A C ommentary on Zheng Xuan's C ommentary o n the Xiaojing 孝經鄭氏註箋釋 and A Study of the Xiaojing 孝經學. He has won the first prize of Beijing Basic Teaching Skills Competition for young teachers and received a grant from the Shiheng Foundation for young scholars.
