Personal profile

TJ (Jie) Tian is an Associate Professor at the School of Philosophy at Renmin University of China. She received her PhD in Philosophy from the University of British Columbia. Her research interests center around the issues of collective action, moral responsibilty and democratic theory. In 2021, she published the book Understanding Collective Responsibility, which examines how individuals and groups navigate moral and political responsibilities within collective frameworks.
