Personal profile

Yu Junwei, born in May 1974, is a professor at School of Philosophy of Renmin University of China. He was a visiting scholar at Institute for Logic, Language and Computation of University of Amsterdam from 2005 to 2006, and at Department of Philosophy of University of York in UK from 2012 to 2013.

Professor Yu graduated from East China Normal University with a bachelor’s degree of Education in 1995 and with a master’s degree of Philosophy in 1998, and from Graduate School of Chinese Academic of Social Science with a doctor’s degree of Philosophy in 2001.

Professor Yu’s research centers on the philosophy of logic and the theory of truth. He published two books A Stud y on Deontic Logic (2005) and A Stud y on Negation (2014). His recent articles includes “On Following Necessarily” (2022), “Truth: A study of Meaning theory” (2022), and “On The Idea and Theory of Logic: a Discussion with Mr. Wang Lu” (2023).

Professor Yu teaches undergraduates courses including Logic and Critical Thinking, Mathematical Logic, and graduates courses including Modal Logic, Philosophy of Logic, Professional Literature in Logic, The Frontiers of Logic.
