Cao Feng, Professor and doctoral supervisor of School of Philosophy, Renmin University of China, Changjiang Scholar Distinguished Professor of Ministry of Education. He received his doctorate from the University of Tokyo, Japan. He was a professor at the Institute of Literature, History and Philosophy of Shandong University and a professor at the Department of Philosophy of Tsinghua University. Professor Cao Feng has won the Achievement Award of Global Chinese Traditional Studies Ceremony, the Outstanding Achievement Award of Scientific Research in higher Education institutions of the Ministry of Education, and the Outstanding Achievement Award of Beijing Philosophy and Social Sciences. He is the chief expert of the National Social Science Fund's major project "The Intellectual History of Huang-lao Taoism". He has published over 180 academic papers, translated more than 40 papers, and published more than 20 monographs, edited books and translated works. He serves as vice president and secretary general of the Lao-Tzu Study Association. He has put his academic focus on the study of Huang-lao Taoism, the study of unearthed documents, the political Ming(naming theory) study, and the translation and study of Japanese Sinology.
