Abstract:
In the first chapter of The Analects, Confucius tells us about the joy of learning - "Is it not a pleasure, having learned something, to try it out at due intervals?” Similarly, Western philosophy highly affirms the joy of learning, viewing it as a powerful weapon against appetite and glory. In Plato and Aristotle, the pleasure of contemplation is even the highest pleasure, enjoying supreme status in human life. This lecture aims to analyze the common purpose of Chinese and Western philosophy in learning, and emphasize the precious significance of the joy of learning in the AI era.
